Common questions
Is it really free forever?
Yes. Once approved, your account is free for as long as your organization remains an active 501(c)(3) with 25 or fewer paid employees. We'll never quietly switch you to a paid plan.
Can volunteers use the system too?
Absolutely. Volunteers are not counted toward your employee limit. You can track both paid staff and volunteer hours in the same account — useful for grant reporting.
What counts as "employees" for the limit?
Paid, active employees on your payroll. Volunteers, board members, and inactive accounts do not count. The account owner (administrator) also does not count.
What happens if we grow beyond 25 employees?
We'll move you to our 50% nonprofit discount on the appropriate plan size. You'll always pay less than standard pricing as a verified nonprofit.
Do you offer grant hour reporting?
Yes. The Project / Program Codes feature lets you tag time entries to specific grants or programs. Export those hours to CSV or standard payroll formats for audits and grant reports.
How long does approval take?
Usually the same business day, no more than 24 hours. We verify your EIN against IRS Tax Exempt Organization data — no paperwork needed from you.
